Before you hand over a dime, ask these. The answers tell you as much about the provider as the product.
"What exactly is included in this price?" Just the device, or does it bundle fittings, adjustments, and follow-ups? Get the parts itemized if you can.
"How many follow-up visits come with this, and what do they cost after that?" The fitting isn't one-and-done. Ongoing adjustments are where good outcomes actually happen.
"What's the trial and return policy?" You should be able to test-drive hearing aids in your real life. Know the window, and whether you get a full refund.
"Is this device locked to your practice?" Some are programmed so only the seller can adjust them. That can trap you if you move or switch providers.
"What happens if my hearing changes?" Can the device be reprogrammed as your needs shift, or are you buying something you'll outgrow?
None of these are gotcha questions. A good provider will welcome them. If someone gets cagey or rushes you past them, that itself is your answer.
The book goes deeper on each — but honestly, if you only remember these five, you're already ahead of most buyers.
